The Boats
Beautiful and historic boats are
coming.
Visitors can go on board the
Giorgio Cini, (below) from the
Nautical School of the Guardia di
Finanza, along with other sailboats
and steamboats like the
Guardacoste from the seventies; the
Grifone III, a sloop from the
D’Ambrosi shipyards; and a Drago
series interception motorboat built in
the eighties.
One of the stars of the
2009 Festival, the 1895 towboat, the
Pietro Micca—the oldest commercial
steamboat in Italy that is still in
class—will be back, along with a
brigantine, the Spirit of Chemainus,
many ships and crews from northern
Europe, and the evolutions of the
18th century Jole di Bantry.
Then
there will be the exhibition of Historic
Racers from France, and a parade
d’élégance of historic Rivas.
